PE Ganzorig opens the meeting with a welcome to our Club members, wishing them a good year of the Dragon and their active participation in the activities for society by Rotary as well in the fellowship activities.
Report from the Board Meeting by PE Ganzorig
Club Assemble will be on 21 March to report the first half year of our club with an extended lunch meeting from 12.00 until 14.00. (note from the Secretary: since there are many matters to be discussed and voting will take place please be present and on time. Thank you.)
Club Assemble will also be the moment we will elect our new board for the coming Rotary year (summer), please nominate candidates or candidate yourself to PE Ganzorig by email ASAP.
This project we can continue after we have closed the District Simplified Grant so we can continue the project with the Matching Grant.
The computers are already issued and are kept by the Rotaractors.
Project can continue and materials can be purchased but someone of Rotary should supervise the cash transactions.
Agreement Rotary and Orphanage will be adjusted, article will be included that equipment will be taken back and redistributed if the use is not according to agreement or insufficient available. Roy D will write his article and send to the project workers as well to Tim, the project coordinator.
Matching Grant for Sanitation is Schools
Project proposal is nearly completed. After that Roy will contact Rotary Club in Netherlands and Sweden concerning the matching grants.
Roy F. announces that he is going for two months to New Zealand so he apologizes for not being able to attend but will visit clubs there.
Meds Project: Letter to Ministry of Health is issued, now letter to Health Department of UB City has to be issued this week. Ministry of Health will help with tax issue while the Department of Health needs all the items to be listed since they take care of the import license.
The money from the Canadian Club has not yet reached our Club accounts yet confirms Treasurer Batzorig as Roy D. asks on behalf of Jilly who is currently in New Zealand taking care of family issues. Roy F. kindly offers to take care of this issue since he is in touch with the Canadians concerned.
Club Matters: Lunch costs will be 15,000 of which 5,000 will be invoiced in advance till July 2012. This 5,000 is to cover the costs of the VIP room at Grand Khaan Irish Pub of 40,000 MNT per regular meeting and 80,000 for our Club Assemble. Further the lunches for guest speakers will be paid out of this amount while the possible remainders will go to our small projects which are financed out of the smile box.
Oyungerel brings banner from Rotary Club of Beijing to which she has already brought a banner from our club.
Marc reports about Battulga who needs a scholarship of 27,000 USD for his 2nd year since he is doing just ok in his first year the university will not give him a scholarship by them. They will focus on a scholarship by OT. Ganzorig points out that Zorigt Foundation is handling the issue of the scholarships which are 100% funded by OT. Roy D. mentioned that there might be a possibility to connect to the OT department in charge of social communities and development of townships.
PP Namsrai reports that the Rotary convention in Bangkok will take place in May. We have so far 5 members attending. District conference will take place in Hong Kong, also in May. The price is 700,000 MNT by MIAT direct flight.
Steering committee meeting of Keep Mongolia Green will take place this week. Next week reports will be given by PP Namsrai.
Iguchi san will donate for the blind association, a container of 20 feet of goods will be send in March from Japan.
On 14th of March there is the celebration of the Rotaract Birthday which takes place in the Palace Hotel, small dinner, drinks and sparkling Rotaract fun. The entrée will be 15,000 MNT
